American Standard, a globally recognized manufacturer of kitchen and bath products under the Lixil Group, has reportedly fallen victim to a data breach orchestrated by the hacking group RansomHub. The breach, which surfaced through an online screenshot, alleges the exfiltration of approximately 400 GB of company data.

As a subsidiary of Lixil, a Japanese conglomerate with operations in over 150 countries, American Standard is known for its extensive portfolio of more than 200 brands. The stolen data’s specific contents have yet to be disclosed, but speculation surrounds the potential exposure of sensitive customer information, employee records, and internal company files.

RansomHub, the entity behind the attack, has issued a ransom demand with a deadline set for January 28, 2025. However, the exact amount sought by the hackers remains undisclosed. The group is known for targeting organizations with significant market influence and leveraging data exfiltration as a tactic to pressure victims into compliance.
