Probe demanded on Liz truss messages leaked by Russian agents

UK opposition parties have called for an urgent investigation into the allegations that the UK government covered up an incident where the personal mobile of EX-PM Liz Truss was hacked by agents allegedly working for Vladimir Putin, the Russian president. Liz Truss was serving as Foreign Secretary by the time when this incident supposedly occurred.

It is believed that the data includes the exchange of messages between Liz and other foreign dignitaries for more than a year. The context of messages is related to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict.

As per the news published in a leading news agency, it was revealed during the ruling party’s first leadership contest this 2022. however, it was overlooked by Boris Johnson the then PM at that time along with the country’s most senior government official, Cabinet Secretary Simon Case. As of now, the British government spokesperson hasn’t commented on it, when a leading news agency contacted them to share their view they stated:

We do not comment on individuals’ security arrangements.

It is believed that Russia accuses the United Kingdom of its involvement in blowing up the gas pipeline due to this message leak. Kim Dotcom, a self-proclaimed ‘Internet Freedom Fighter says that Former UK PM sent a text message to the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken saying “it’s done” within a minute after the Nord Stream attack.

Layla Moran, who is the foreign affairs spokesperson for the Liberal Democrats party has called for a prompt investigation to unearth the truth. In a tweet from her official Twitter she quoted:

“We need an urgent independent investigation to uncover the truth. Was Liz Truss’ phone hacked by the Kremlin, was there a news blackout and if so why?

If this was withheld from the public to protect Liz Truss’ leadership bid, that would be unforgivable.”
