Hackers steal riot game source codes and demand a ransom
Riot Games is an American video game developer. It says that the source code was stolen from their development system and the hacker demanded ransom. Riot Games claims that hackers breached its internal systems and stole the source code for League of Legends. The company also said that the source codes of well-known video games including League of Legends (LoL) multiplayer online battle and Teamfight Tactics (TFT) auto battler game have been stolen.
Cyber Attackers have compromised Riot Games’ production systems through social engineering tactics. Riot Games had a huge impact from this attack and they temporarily suspends all the new releases or updates of the game. The Company has also revealed that they had received a ransom demand.
In a statement company said:
While this attack disrupted our build environment and may cause future issues, we are confident that no player data or personal information was compromised.
Riot Games stated that it is investigating the attack with law enforcement and external consultants and that a full report detailing how its development environment was breached and what steps were taken to prevent it from happening again will be released. And also said that Our security teams and internationally recognized external consultants are still evaluating the attack and auditing our systems.

The stolen source code also contains experimental game features, though not all of these features may make it into the final product. The amount demanded by hackers has not been officially disclosed by the company. For now, the company will certainly keep the community updated on any new developments.
